Introduction

VDR varistors are voltage-limiting protection devices with nonlinear V-I characteristics. When the voltage applied across the device exceeds the threshold, its impedance drops sharply, conducting large currents that effectively clamp overvoltage and absorb surge energy to protect downstream circuits. These devices feature fast response times and high surge current handling capability, making them suitable for overvoltage protection in AC or DC circuits.
