Introduction

A varistor is a voltage-dependent nonlinear resistive element whose resistance decreases rapidly when the voltage exceeds a certain value. A varistor is equivalent to two Zener diodes connected in series and is non-polarized. Inserting a varistor into a circuit suppresses transient voltages. This series complies with the RoHS directive, is compatible with lead-free solder, and is AEC-Q200 qualified.
