Introduction
Ceramic semiconductor devices based on zinc oxide (ZnO), exhibiting nonlinear, bidirectional voltage-current characteristics. They provide bidirectional overvoltage protection and EMI/RFI attenuation in a single SMT package. The automotive series features high current and high energy handling capability, making it suitable for protection against automotive-related transient phenomena. Kyocera AVX VG series components (large package, high energy) use glass encapsulation, offering the same high reliability as the traditional VC series components. The glass encapsulation also enhances resistance to harsh environments or processes such as acids, salts, and chlorate fluxes. Operating temperature range: -55°C to +125°C.
