Introduction

The 2R-8TH series ceramic gas discharge tubes (GDTs) are flat-profile products manufactured using patented technology and advanced welding processes, significantly reducing the mounting footprint during installation. GDTs utilize inert gas encapsulated within a ceramic tube to provide an alternative discharge path for voltage spikes. The ceramic housing and nickel connectors enable the device to withstand high loads. This series features a surge rating of 10kA/5kA (8/20μs), making it well-suited for broadband equipment applications. The low off-state capacitance is compatible with high-bandwidth applications, and this capacitive load value remains constant regardless of the voltage across the GDT.
