Introduction

Gas discharge tubes (GDTs) normally operate in a high-insulation-resistance state, equivalent to an open circuit, with virtually no effect on normal circuit operation. When a transient overvoltage occurs in the circuit and its amplitude exceeds the breakdown voltage of the GDT, the gas inside is ionized, causing the GDT to conduct rapidly and clamp the overvoltage to a lower level, thereby protecting parallel-connected electronic equipment or circuit components from high-voltage surge damage. Once the overvoltage subsides, the GDT immediately returns to its high-insulation-resistance state and normal circuit operation resumes. The 2R-20D series is a GDT with follow current interruption capability, manufactured using advanced processes and high-quality materials for outstanding durability and reliability. Its compact structure facilitates installation in various types of power equipment. Fast response speed provides reliable protection for electronic devices and ensures stable power system operation.
