Introduction

The 2R-5 series gas discharge tubes provide a high level of protection against fast-rising transients caused by lightning interference. This series features a miniature SMT package with a surge rating of 5kA/3kA 8/20μs. The 2R-5 gas discharge tubes are high-voltage (1000~4500V) components designed for surge protection and high-isolation applications. They are also suitable for applications where bias voltages or signal levels of several hundred volts are typically present. The 2R-5 gas discharge tubes can be used in conjunction with metal oxide varistors to provide excellent protection performance for AC applications.
