Introduction

The NSL-4960 is a photoresistor sensitive to the visible light spectrum. The cadmium sulfide (CdS) photocell is housed in a TO-8 hermetic package. Advanced Photonix CdS photocells are photoresistors designed for visible light measurement, intended to sense light in the 400 to 700nm range. Their resistance decreases as light intensity increases, with spectral response characteristics similar to the human eye. These LDRs are available in a variety of resistance values, in either dual-lead plastic-coated ceramic packages or hermetically sealed TO metal can packages.
