Introduction

As the third generation of the TF series, the TF03 inherits the high cost-performance ratio and high integration advantages of its predecessors. It upgrades more than ten key parameters and offers multiple extended functions to meet diverse requirements across different application scenarios. Two detection ranges are available: 100m and 180m. Its compact dimensions of only 44×42.9×31.8mm allow it to be held in one hand. The product is suited for UAV terrain following, automotive obstacle avoidance, intelligent transportation, and industrial safety warning.

The TF03 operates on the principle of pulsed time-of-flight. The unique design of the optical system and signal processing circuit enhances detection performance within a compact form factor. In addition to extending the detection range to over 100m, the sensor features a 0.1m blind zone, ±10cm accuracy, a frequency of up to 10KHz, and ambient light immunity of 100Klux. The TF03 also incorporates a compensation algorithm for outdoor high-intensity light environments, enabling it to maintain excellent performance under harsh conditions.

The TF03 sensor features an aluminum housing and infrared bandpass glass to improve overall structural strength. With an IP67 protection rating, it can be deployed in a variety of extreme environments. It supports multiple interfaces for different applications, including UART, CAN, and IO. In addition, users can configure multiple parameters of the TF03, such as measurement frequency, baud rate, trigger mode, and out-of-range value assignment. The TF03 is also equipped with a BootLoader function, enabling users to upgrade the product firmware locally. The sensor operates at a supply voltage of 5V with an average power consumption of 0.55W. It is compatible with controllers such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi. With Arduino and Raspberry Pi libraries developed by DFRobot, users can conveniently integrate functionality into their systems for application development.
